Withdrawal Limit

In One Sentence

A withdrawal limit caps the amount an account may withdraw in a transaction or over a specified period.

Definition

A withdrawal limit is a platform restriction on outgoing funds. It can apply per request, per day, or across another measurement period, and may be expressed in an asset quantity or a common currency equivalent. Identity verification, account status, payment method, and security settings can affect the applicable allowance.

How It Works

The system compares a withdrawal request with the available allowance and other account requirements. For example, a hypothetical daily cap of 10,000 units with 7,000 already used leaves 3,000 before any further adjustments. A fixed daily reset and a rolling 24-hour window calculate availability differently.

Key Considerations

A limit is distinct from a withdrawal fee, a minimum withdrawal amount, or the available balance. Having allowance remaining does not guarantee immediate processing: funds may be reserved, temporarily held, or subject to review. Check how pending requests, currency conversion, and internal transfers count under the platform’s rules, rather than assuming limits are identical across services.
