Definition
A crypto withdrawal generally sends an asset to a supported blockchain address, while a fiat withdrawal uses a financial payment channel. It is distinct from selling: moving a coin to a personal wallet does not by itself convert it or realize a trading profit.
How It Works
The service checks available balance, destination, limits, and required security information before processing. An on-chain withdrawal normally produces a transaction ID after broadcast; the receiving service may then wait for confirmations before crediting. Requested, approved, broadcast, and received are therefore different stages.
Key Considerations
Confirm asset, network, address, and any tag before submission. Fees can reduce the amount received, and processing may pause for checks or maintenance. Once broadcast, a transfer generally cannot be canceled through the exchange interface. Never assume a saved address remains suitable for a different asset or network.
