Device authorization can involve recognizing a browser, registering an application or approving a new login. It is not a universal blockchain feature, and different platforms attach different meanings to a trusted device. Approval may reduce repeated checks for some actions, but it does not necessarily grant every permission or remain valid indefinitely.
How It Works
A service may request a password, additional authentication or confirmation through an existing trusted session before registering a new device. It can then retain a device credential or session token to recognize later requests. Device names and approximate locations shown in account history can help review activity, although location estimates may be affected by network routing or a VPN.
Key Considerations
Review authorized devices regularly and remove those that are lost, replaced or unfamiliar. Revoking a session through account settings may be necessary even after changing a password, depending on the service’s behavior. Do not approve a new-device request that you did not initiate. A known device can still become infected, and a stolen session can sometimes bypass fresh login checks. Device authorization should complement strong authentication and recovery controls, not substitute for them. It does not revoke token allowances or change private keys belonging to a separate wallet.
