A bag is a holding of a particular cryptocurrency, or sometimes a person's crypto portfolio more broadly. Someone saying “I have a bag of this token” means they own a position in it. The expression has no standard quantity or monetary threshold and does not identify where the assets are stored.
Reading common expressions
“Adding to my bag” means increasing a holding, while “selling my bag” means reducing or exiting it, depending on context. “Heavy bags” may refer to a large position or to assets whose poor performance feels burdensome. The word alone does not establish whether the owner is profitable.
For a hypothetical holding of 100 tokens, a price change alters the position's market value even if the number of tokens stays unchanged.
Bag versus bag holder
Bag holder often carries a more negative meaning: someone left holding an asset after a substantial decline, especially while hoping to recover their purchase cost. Having a bag does not automatically make someone a bag holder in that sense. Neither expression replaces actual information about position size, purchase price, liquidity, or concentration risk.
