A roadmap is a plan describing expected stages of a project. Crypto roadmaps may include test releases, mainnet launches, integrations, upgrades or governance changes. They communicate intentions and priorities, not necessarily binding delivery dates or completed capabilities.

Teams use milestones to coordinate work and explain sequencing. Some roadmaps attach dates, while others use broad phases or dependencies. A feature can rely on research, audits, infrastructure or decisions by other participants. Readers should distinguish an announced milestone from a released implementation and from an implementation that has been adopted in production.
Key Considerations
Delays do not automatically prove misconduct, but repeated unexplained changes can undermine confidence. Completion should be checked against concrete releases, documentation and observable behavior rather than a status badge alone. Dates may be estimates, and decentralized governance can affect what is ultimately approved. A roadmap does not guarantee token-price growth, listings or external partnerships. Its usefulness lies in clear scope, realistic dependencies and accountable progress reporting.
