Platforms differ in how, or whether, they verify that a displayed image corresponds to a token held by the account.
Key Considerations
Anyone can often copy and display a publicly available image, so an avatar alone is not proof of token ownership or personal identity. Visual rarity does not guarantee demand or financial value. Commercial-use rights depend on the collection’s license, and promised membership benefits can change. Evaluate the actual token, license and services rather than assuming that every PFP project grants the same privileges.
