No-Coiner

In One Sentence

No-coiner is slang for someone who holds no cryptocurrency, often with an added implication of skepticism or opposition to crypto.

No-coiner is an informal label for a person without cryptocurrency holdings. In its more pointed community usage, it suggests someone who also doubts crypto’s usefulness or long-term value. The word can therefore describe either a holding position loosely or a skeptical attitude more specifically; context determines the emphasis.

Not owning is not one belief

Someone may hold no crypto because of financial priorities, access constraints, lack of interest, or concerns about risk. None of those choices automatically means they believe all cryptocurrencies will fail. Similarly, a person can study blockchain technology or work with it without investing in a token.

Calling every non-holder a no-coiner in the hostile sense collapses these different reasons into a stereotype.

How the term is used

Crypto supporters sometimes use it dismissively toward critics, while some critics adopt it as a self-description. In other conversations it is simply a lighthearted way to say someone has not bought crypto. The label does not establish a person’s knowledge, motives, or ability to assess a project. Claims about a technology or investment still need to be considered on their evidence, regardless of whether the speaker owns coins.
