The explorer is an access and interpretation tool, not the blockchain itself, and different services can display or categorize information differently.
How It Is Used
Users search by transaction identifier, address or block reference. Results can help verify inclusion, execution status, fees and token-transfer events. Some explorers also display contract source code or labels identifying known services. Such labels and derived balances may include off-chain interpretation rather than facts directly stored in the base record.
Key Considerations
Check that the explorer is for the intended network and that the result describes the actual asset or contract. A pending transaction is not a completed payment, while an included contract call may have failed. Explorer outages or indexing delays can temporarily affect displayed data. Viewing an address does not require entering its private key or recovery phrase. For important discrepancies, direct node data or another independent explorer can help cross-check the result.
